LG Dare to be released on June 26th
Posted: Jun 13th 2008 10:43AM by Chase Higgins
The upcoming LG Dare for Verizon is looking better every time we see it. The device is finally going to be making its way to the stores on June 26th, if this information holds to be true. The device was rumored to be released some time next month, but may have gotten expedited to launch before the iPhone 3G. The device has some sweet features behind it, like a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus. This means it has one of the best cameras to be on a phone officially carried in the U.S. The device will also sport EV-DO Rev. A, with download speeds of up to 2.4mbps. This will aid the device's full HTML browser, and also provide plenty of over the air downloads of music, videos, and games. Look for a hands on with the device when it comes out, right here.

ummm...im looking forward to this phone but I dont know about it killing the iphone... it will be on verizon so that means that you'll at least have good service (i hate at&t) but the dare doesn't have GPS like the iphone, its got a smaller screen and its going to have a tough time matching apple in ergonomics/UI. That said, if it ain't on verizon I don't care b/c it still needs to work as a phone and I've known too many people with iphones that complain about the service... in several years everyone is going to be converging on a common 4g technology anyway... who knows, maybe then apple will finally see the light and get their phone on the RIGHT network

GPS like the iPhone? Verizon's network has the best GPS out of all the networks; VZ Navigator. Real-time Traffic Reports, turn-by-turn direction, automatic recalculation. You don't even need a tom-tom with it. Not to mention it runs off Verizon's service making it pretty reliable.

i think this device will have a lot of advantages over the iphone. I think also the iphone will beat this device in some ways. I think we can all agree this will be a sweet device though.
